About me

I am a Ph.D. researcher who graduated from Arts et Métiers ParisTech in France and the University of the Andes in Colombia. I completed my Ph.D. in the field of Extended Reality (XR), with a special focus on Virtual Reality (VR). I have witnessed the evolution of VR, starting with the first consumer-oriented HMD, the Oculus Rift CV1, and I fell in love with the potential of this technology to transform human life. From the beginning, I became interested in improving the sense of presence and making VR feel more natural, as I immediately noticed—or rather, experienced—the limitations of early devices in terms of natural interaction, spatial perception, and cybersickness. I firmly believe that natural interaction in VR is a complex and continuously evolving research topic, as I have witnessed both the progress and the ongoing challenges of various visual, haptic, and interaction devices. My ambition is to push these boundaries further, contributing to the next generation of immersive experiences that seamlessly bridge the gap between the virtual and the real world. Although XR is my passion, I am also an enthusiast of recent advances in AI, including Large Language Models, image generation, and 3D reconstruction.
